Whom discovered radioactive dating

Most people, including Christians, still claim dogmatically that the earth looks old.

If we look at the earth through the “glasses” of human reasoning—that only snail-paced present geological processes can explain the past—then the earth does indeed look old.

We are told radiometric dating shows that certain rocks formed billions of years ago. And that’s what we find in the earth’s geology, biology, paleontology, and even astronomy.

Heraclitus - Greek philosopher; first of the Greeks to develop a theory of the human soul; he praised its creative resources and spoke of the importance of self-exploration; he spoke of the logos that is common to all and said that the universe is ruled by logos; he always urged that close attention be given to the polarites and concealed structures emodied in language.

The earliest experiments in radiocarbon dating were done on ancient material from Egypt. Libby’s team obtained acacia wood from the 3rd Dynasty Step Pyramid of Djoser to test a hypothesis they had developed.

Libby reasoned that since the half-life of C years, the Djoser sample’s C14 concentration should be about 50% of the concentration found in living wood (for further details, see Arnold and Libby, 1949). Subsequent work with radiocarbon testing raised questions about the fluctuation of atmospheric C14 over time.

His famous claim that an idividual can and cannot step into the same river twice reveals an interest in criteria of unity and identity; even though all material constituents have undergone change, it is still, in a sence, the same river.

Many such examples show it is impossible to add long periods of time into the biblical account without seriously damaging the doctrine of inerrancy.

Writer Brian Michael Bendis added Spider-Woman to the roster of the high-profile New Avengers.

In 2009, the character received her second self-titled limited series, written by Bendis, which ran for seven issues.

Pythagoras - Greek philosopher and mathematician; held that numbers were basic to matter; the Pythagorean Theorem is named for his geometric formulation; developed atomic theory; students of his philosophy emphasized geometrical form as a basic property of atoms; developed mathematical relationships which led to musical harmony.

Empedocles - Some suggest (c.484-c.424) - Greek doctor, poet and philosopher.
